About The Bronx Cannabis Free Press

A free local magazine for Bronx adults who want the real story on cannabis — and a good sandwich after.

The Bronx Cannabis Free Press is a free, local news and lifestyle magazine about cannabis in the Bronx — and about the things Bronx cannabis lovers love. We launched in 2026, as New York's legal market passed its five-year mark and the Bronx still had fewer licensed dispensaries than any borough but Staten Island, a crackdown on unlicensed shops on nearly every corner, and plenty of confusion about what's legal.

What we cover

Our mission

Help adults in the Bronx make informed, legal, safe choices about cannabis — and celebrate the borough while we're at it. We're consumer-first: we tell you how to verify a license, where you can and can't consume, what things actually cost, and which stories matter to your block.

Who we are

We're a small team of Bronx-based writers and editors. Every story carries a byline, and every writer has a profile explaining their beat. Meet the staff.

How we're funded

The Free Press is free to read, always. Our presenting sponsor, Buddiez — a licensed dispensary at 2935 Third Ave in the South Bronx — underwrites our costs. Sponsors never see stories before publication and have no say over coverage or ratings. Read our sponsorship disclosure and editorial guidelines.

Standards

We verify dispensary licenses against the NY Office of Cannabis Management's own data, link to primary sources, correct errors promptly and transparently, and never publish content promoting unlicensed sellers. See our corrections policy.
